5-Dec-2007 CENTEX-Manila to Represent NCR in The National Schools' Press Conference
CENTEX-Manila student Lois Anne Gabriel, along with three other students from different schools, will represent the National Capital Region in this year's National Schools' Press Conference in Koronadal, South Cotabato on February 18 to 22. A total of 98 students from all over the Philippines will compete in the event.
Gabriel recently placed second in the Feature Writing category of the 28th Metro Manila Young Writers' Conference and Contests held at Pasig Central Elementary School. She also represented the Division of Manila in the 2007 Search for Outstanding Young Campus Journalist.
Students competed in the writing contest from the district level up to the national level. Other students from CENTEX-Manila also bagged awards at the division level competition, namely, Alexis Leshen who ranked ninth in the Copy Reading and Headline Writing category, and Hannah Franchezka Sy who placed ninth in Pag-uulo, Pagwawasto at Pagsulat ng Balita.
At the district level, Lois Anne Gabriel and Vince Canlas won first place in the Feature Writing and Sports writing categories, while Leshen placed second in Copy Reading and Headline Writing category. Grade Five CENTEX-Manila students Bianca Andrea Paredes and Pauline Anne Garcia placed third in the News Writing and Photojournalism categories, respectively.
