Level: GRADE 6
Subject: SCIENCE

At the end of sixth grade, students can identify the structure and functions of cells. They can differentiate an animal cell from a plant cell. They can explain how the cells reproduce and how DNA carries and transfers an organism’s trait. Students also become familiar with major land and water biomes. They are more knowledgeable on the different laws of motion, states of matter, properties of light, sound, color, and the solar system. They are also taught how technology can either work for or work against human. Grade six students start to become aware how people affect the earth’s system and resources. They learn how to protect and conserve resources for future generation.
