Grade five musicians are able to distinguish the timbre between major and minor scales in various keys. They listen attentively to music pieces and identify their form. They are able to distinguish the qualities among the four singing voices. They are encouraged to sing using age-appropriate vocal range and head tone. They expand their knowledge of musical symbols with the addition of those used to express changes in dynamics and tempo. Texture is also discussed more extensively with the introduction of chords.
