The Mathematics curriculum in Grade Five necessitates the development of the number sense of children through various creative avenues.
It boosts the critical thinking skills and reasoning power of students through solving of multi-step problems. It includes statistical concepts and interpretation of different graphs. Students are required to organize, compare and order numbers, round off and estimate numbers, look for patterns and identify place value relationships through billions. The geometrical concepts offered to the students are more difficult.
Students of Math Five acquires deeper knowledge of linear measurements, capacity, weight and temperature. They also learn more about different kinds of fractions and decimal numbers.
