Level: GRADE 4
Subject: MUSIC
Fourth grade musicians are introduced to dotted notes and rests and meter, specifically of time signatures in music compositions. Stress is given to the identification of so-fa syllables in the Key of C and their equivalent pitches, the pentatonic scale, and note intervals. Mastery of distinguishing the characteristics and timbre of the different families of instruments, which now includes the brass family and the rondalla, is reinforced. The students sing in harmony more confidently through rounds, ostinatos, and partner songs. The types of vocal ensembles are also presented to them. They exhibit musical learning through skits, games, and a puppet show.
